Building your own website is the ultimate goal of all people who are interested in learning about web development. Being able to build your own website is certainly not an achievement to scoff at and that’s why besides the fact that you get to cut down on costs, a lot of people try their best to learn about web development simply for the sake of learning it and becoming self-reliant.

Once you’ve learned web development and find that you have the passion for it, you might even turn your newfound skills in web development skills into something that would earn you income!

But before those dollars start shining in your eyes - let’s concentrate on learning web development first and how to build your own website.

Choosing the Software
Because the numbers of software programs used for web development is quite numerous, it’s better if we concentrate at one particular software program first then just move on to another one when we’ve mastered all that needs mastering. Some people use a combination of software programs but like previously mentioned, it’s better to start on something easy and simple first.

You can either go for Microsoft Frontpage, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Dreamweaver FX or other programs – it’s entirely up to you. If you don’t know which one to use, we suggest MS Frontpage because it’s fairly easy to understand.

Choosing the Language
No, obviously, I’m not talking about learning web development in Italian or Mandarin but rather, computer languages such as HTML (do you know that it stands for hyper text markup language?), JAVA or ASP. Since you’re new to web development, we suggest that you stick to an easy language first like HTML.

Starting Easy with Tables
When you embark on your web development lessons, you’ll realize that learning about tables is the first and most important thing to know. Tables determine where everything goes and how everything is arranged so even if this aspect of web development is quite tedious, focus on it because this shall serve as the foundation of everything you’ll learn about web development.

Familiarizing Yourself with Codes
As you go about studying web development and applying your knowledge to your website, you’d see that there are many codes that you’ll be using repeatedly. Hence, it’s better that you commit these codes to memory early so that you won’t have to consult your notes every time you want to make something. An example of these codes would be <br> for line breaks or <b> for bold text.
